Goodna Cadets started in April 1998 with 24 cadets from the local GC0001.jpg (90347 bytes) Redbank Plains State High School.

Since our first intake the group has grown in strength and calibre.  We have singed up approximately 100 young people from ages 12 to 15 years.  Some of which have passed through the ranks and joined as adult members

Our current numbers are capped at 40 cadets.

The cadets cover radio procedures, compass and navigation, general  GC0003.jpg (105495 bytes)rescue, land search, first aid, boat safety, and fire safety. Activity based training allows the cadets to have fun while learning these very important skills.

The scheme is focused around giving young people valuable life skills like leadership, self confidence, and community awareness.

The Goodna Cadets have also supported a number of community organizations over the years.  Queensland Guide Dogs, National Tree Day, SIDS Foundation, Lions Club International, just to name a few.
